the Dancing flamingos project

Alison Denholm’s ‘Dancing Mobiles’ project -  The project gives people with less mobility a chance to take part in parades and carnival.

I worked as Design assistant and associate artist on the project, where I worked as part of the team to produce three Flamingo float/puppets that attach onto mobility scooters. The Flamingos had their Debut at Nottingham carnival, where I performed alongside them in one of city arts biana costumes. Since then we have gone on to complete a total of six flamingos and they have appeared a various events all over the country. In the summer of 2022 they appeared as part of the Mahogany troupe in the queens jubilee pageant parade in London.

Extra head manipulation at Beverley puppetry festival 2022, this allowed us to use a smaller mobility scooter.
